Crop a photo to any rectangle, with optional aspect ratio presets.

This is a free tool that runs in the browser: open the page to use it. File tools process files on the visitor's own device; files are never uploaded or stored. No account, sign-up, payment or watermark.

Crop a photo to any rectangle, or lock it to a 1:1, 4:3, or 16:9 aspect ratio, entirely in your browser. Drag the box or its corners to select the area, then crop and download.

Drag the crop box to move it, or drag a corner handle to resize it, directly over a preview of your image.

Locking an aspect ratio preset keeps the box's proportions fixed while resizing, useful for a square profile photo or a widescreen crop.

The selected area is drawn onto a canvas at its exact pixel size and re-encoded in the image's original format.

Q: Can I crop to a specific aspect ratio like square or widescreen?
A: Yes - pick a 1:1, 4:3, or 16:9 preset, or leave it on Free to drag any rectangle you like.

Q: Does cropping reduce image quality?
A: No - the cropped area is copied at its original pixel resolution, so quality within the crop is unchanged.

Q: Can I adjust the crop after resizing it?
A: Yes, drag the box or any corner handle as many times as you like before cropping.

Q: Is my image uploaded anywhere?
A: No, cropping happens entirely in your browser tab.

Q: Does cropping change the file size?
A: Yes, usually smaller, since you're keeping fewer pixels. The image is also re-encoded, so the exact result depends on the format and quality.

Q: Can I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
A: Drag the crop box to frame what you want; the pixel dimensions of the selection are shown as you adjust it, so you can dial in a specific size.

Q: Will cropping rotate a portrait photo?
A: No. The orientation stored in the file is applied before you see the image, so what you crop is what you get.

Q: Can I crop several images at once?
A: No, cropping is one image at a time by design - the whole point is choosing the framing for that specific photo. For batch work, use the resize tool.
