How it works
Uppercase and lowercase apply directly to every letter. Title case capitalises the first letter of each word, while sentence case only capitalises the first letter of each sentence, detected by punctuation.
camelCase and snake_case first split the text into words on spaces and punctuation, then rejoin them in the target convention - useful for turning a phrase into a variable name.
The conversion is a pure text transform with no formatting or styling applied, so pasting the result elsewhere carries no hidden markup.
Worked examples
Fixing text pasted from a caps-lock document
Paste the all-caps text and convert to sentence case to make it readable again.
Turning a phrase into a variable name
Paste a short phrase and convert to camelCase or snake_case for use as a variable or file name.
Formatting a heading in title case
Paste a heading and convert to title case to match a style guide's capitalisation rules.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No, the conversion runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
What's the difference between title case and sentence case?
Title case capitalises the first letter of every word; sentence case only capitalises the first letter of each sentence, like normal prose.
Does title case handle small words like 'the' or 'of' correctly?
Every word is capitalised - it doesn't apply style-guide exceptions for minor words, since conventions differ between style guides.
Can I convert code identifiers, not just prose?
Yes, camelCase and snake_case are aimed specifically at converting a phrase into a variable-name style.
What is camelCase versus snake_case?
camelCase joins words with capitals after the first (myVariableName). snake_case joins them with underscores (my_variable_name). They're conventions from different programming languages, not different meanings.
Can I undo a conversion?
Converting replaces the output, not your input, so the original text stays in the box and you can switch to a different case at any point.
Does it handle accented characters correctly?
Yes, case conversion follows Unicode rules, so accented and non-Latin characters are handled properly rather than being stripped or mangled.
Is there a length limit?
No fixed limit. Conversion is instant even on long documents since it's simple text manipulation.
