Sri Lanka tools and calculators
Everyday Sri Lankan checks and calculators: NIC numbers, gratuity, EPF and ETF, loans and leasing, take-home pay.
Calculators and checks built on Sri Lankan rules, for employees, employers, small businesses and anyone dealing with rupees, tax or official numbers. Work out take-home pay after EPF and APIT, the gratuity and overtime the labour laws give you, income tax on a year's earnings, VAT registration and the Social Security Contribution Levy, loan, leasing, fixed deposit and Treasury bill figures, and the date of birth inside a NIC number. Each page names the Act, Inland Revenue notice or Central Bank list it follows, says when its rules were last checked, and several let you change a rate if the law changes before the page does. They are estimates to plan with, not a payslip or a tax assessment. Everything runs in your browser, so your salary and your numbers stay on your device.

Salary and employment
Take-home pay after EPF and APIT, the gross salary behind a take-home figure, EPF and ETF contributions, gratuity under the Payment of Gratuity Act, overtime under the Shop and Office Employees Act, and the length of a service period. The salary tools share one tax engine, so their answers agree.
Tax and levies
Income tax on a year of employment income under the 2025/26 bands, whether a business has passed the VAT registration threshold, and the Social Security Contribution Levy for a quarter. Each one names the Inland Revenue Department notice it follows and lets you change the rates.
Banking, loans and savings
Loan and leasing payments and the real rate behind a flat-rate quote, how much you can borrow, fixed deposit interest after tax, Treasury bill prices and yields, the price of gold jewellery in pavan, and rupee amounts in words for a cheque. None of them carries live market rates: you enter today's rate from your bank or jeweller.
Household bills
Work out a CEB or LECO electricity bill from your units or meter readings on the tariff the Public Utilities Commission approved, see where the next block starts, and what each appliance adds to the month.
Vehicles and travel
The gazetted toll between any two expressway interchanges, the NTC bus fare for any fare stage, which railway lines are running after the cyclone repairs, the 33 traffic spot fines, and what a number plate's series says about when it was issued.
Exams and universities
Take an official A/L Z-score to the university courses it reaches in your district, or estimate a Z-score from your marks with subject statistics you enter. The exam results and cut-off marks themselves are on the Updates pages.
Identity and phone numbers
Read the birth date, gender and age encoded in an old or new NIC number, and check whether a Sri Lankan phone number is well formed, mobile or landline, and how it is written with +94. Both take a whole pasted list, and no number leaves your browser.
Holidays and Poya days
Every public, bank and mercantile holiday and Poya day of 2026 and 2027 from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's lists, with the next holiday, long weekends and a working-day counter.
