Web application

Hardware repair request tracker

A role-based web app that takes a hardware repair from the customer's request to a technician's proposal, an appointment, the repair and the payment, with a separate dashboard for each role.

The workflow

A repair moves through request, proposal, acceptance, appointment, repair and payment. Customers and technicians register, and an admin approves each account before it can be used.

A customer submits a repair request for a laptop, phone or other device. Technicians see the approved requests and send proposals; the customer accepts one and an appointment is set. The technician updates the job (Assigned, Completed, Returned or Cannot Fix), records the outcome, and the payment is logged.

Three roles, three dashboards

Customers create and track requests, accept proposals and see their history and completed repairs. Technicians manage approved requests, the proposals they sent and their accepted appointments. Admins approve registrations, manage users and roles, and watch requests, payments, feedback and reports.

Sign-in is session-based and pages are restricted by role, so each person sees only the dashboard and actions of their own role.

Data

Ten MySQL tables hold the users, customer and technician profiles, requests, appointment proposals, appointments, repair updates, receipts, payments and feedback.
