Merge PDFs - Combine Files in Any Order, Free
Combine several PDF files into one, in whatever order you choose, entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded - the merge happens locally and the combined file downloads directly.

How it works
Each PDF you add is parsed and validated individually before merging - checking the page count of every source file catches a damaged or unreadable PDF before it can silently merge in as zero pages, a real failure mode in more permissive PDF libraries.
Pages are copied at the object level rather than rendered and re-saved as images, so text stays selectable, links stay clickable, and quality doesn't degrade.
Drag to reorder the files before merging - the output follows the order shown on screen, top to bottom.
Worked examples
Combining scanned pages into one document
If a scanner saves each page as a separate PDF, drop them all in, drag them into reading order, and merge into a single file to send.
Attaching a cover letter to a report
Add the cover letter first, then the report - the merge preserves each file's original formatting and fonts.
Joining chapters into one book
Works with dozens of files at once - order them, merge, and download one combined PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
No fixed limit - it depends on your device's memory. Merging comfortably handles dozens of typical documents.
Will the text still be selectable and searchable?
Yes, pages are combined at the PDF object level, not flattened into images, so text, links, and bookmarks behave exactly as they did in the source files.
What if one of my PDFs is corrupted?
Each file is checked individually before merging. A damaged file is flagged with a clear error rather than being silently dropped or merged in as blank pages.
Does merging remove password protection?
No - an encrypted PDF needs its password entered before it can be merged. A dedicated password removal tool is planned separately.
Is my file uploaded anywhere during the merge?
No, the entire merge happens in your browser tab.
Can I reorder files before merging?
Yes, drag the files into the order you want before starting the merge.
Does merging affect file size?
The result is roughly the sum of the inputs. Shared resources like repeated fonts can be consolidated, so it's sometimes slightly smaller than the straight total.
Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes?
Yes. Each page keeps its own dimensions, so a merged file can legitimately contain a mix of A4 and Letter pages.
