About this tool
The whole thing happens in your browser - your document is never uploaded anywhere.
How it works
Draw your signature on a small pad using your mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen, or type your name and have it rendered in a cursive font instead - whichever is easier on your device.
The signature appears as a transparent-background image you can drag to reposition and resize on the page, so you can line it up exactly with a signature line or date field.
Placing the signature converts its position into the PDF's own page coordinates, so it lands in the same spot no matter what device later opens the file.
Worked examples
Signing a rental agreement
Open the lease, draw your signature once, drag it onto the signature line on the final page, and download the signed copy.
Signing without a printer or scanner
Type your name in the cursive style instead of drawing - useful on a device without a trackpad or touchscreen, like a desktop with only a mouse.
Placing an initial on a specific page
Navigate to any page in the document and place a smaller signature or initial exactly where it's needed.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work on password-protected PDFs?
Yes - enter the password when prompted and the page preview loads as normal before you place your signature.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
It places a visual signature image onto the page, similar to signing a printed page and scanning it back in. It doesn't add cryptographic signing certificates, so check what your specific use case requires.
Can I resize the signature after placing it?
Yes, drag the corner handle to resize it while keeping its proportions, and drag the signature itself to move it.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No, the signature is drawn or typed locally and placed onto the PDF entirely in your browser tab.
Can I sign more than one page?
One page per run. Run the tool again on the result to add a signature to another page.
Should I use a scanned signature or draw one?
A scan on white paper looks more like your real signature, but needs its background removing first. Drawing directly gives a clean transparent result with no extra step.
Will the signature stay in place in a different PDF reader?
Yes. It's drawn into the page content itself, not attached as an annotation, so it renders identically everywhere and can't be moved or hidden.
Can someone remove the signature afterwards?
It's part of the page, so it can't be dragged off the way an annotation can - but anyone with a PDF editor can edit any PDF. This is a visible signature, not a cryptographic one.
